NOTES: Toby (Johnny Beasley), a 25-year-old hospital cleaner with a passion for comic books, encounters a ghost, Andy (Ben Tagoe), during his night shift at the hospital, and a bizarre chain of events unfolds. Can Toby become the superhero of his dreams and save the day before the police (Simon Pini, Tom de Bruin), and more importantly, Toby’s boss (Basat Ali Ejaz) close in on him?

Lift My Spirits was a joint production between staff, patients and ex-patients from St. James’s Hospital Teenage Cancer Trust Ward and screenwriter Ben Tagoe. Writing sessions took place in 2005, with filming commencing at the start of 2006. The name for Trixie Pictures came from early writing sessions with Ben for a radio play. The plot of that radio play involved a parrot named Trixie. A trailer was revealed to the public at a special event hosted by Sue Morgan MBE at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on the 23rd March. The film was completed in the Summer and premiered online at JTV (formerly JimmyTeensTV) August 2006.
