Monthly Archives: June 2006

So, it seems there is a pattern emerging, a blog every Tuesday and Thursday. I have a routine! This one, unlike those idiots over at Hallmark who moved Gilmore girls over to 12pm, will not be changed (he says). I am off to the 02 Wireless Festival on Saturday. I’ve never been to a “festival” before, how middle-aged of me! Speaking of my age, I keep watching Big Brother semi-occasionally and am being more and more disgusted by the housemates everyday. The reason it gets to me so much is that many of the people that disgust me are part of my generation. I mean FFS I am the same age as Grace. Eurgh, I cannot tell you how much that makes my skin crawl. Thank god I’ve always been diplomatic otherwise I would have never gotten on with people my age, I still don’t sometimes, but I learnt a lot of social skills in Sixth Form. Anyone reading this – god, who does? Simon, that’s about it probably! Anyone who has just completed their GCSE’s I would advise to stay on for Year 12 and 13 as Sixth Form is great. Okay, it may not be for everyone but you can always leave after the first year, no one’ll start up if you do! So, it was raining yesterday. The first day of Summer and it was raining! I don’t think that’s happened in a long while, I hope this means our Summer will be mild, as I really can’t stand the heat and the sun (well you already know that) but I am prepared as I bought my Air Cooler on Monday. That’d be typical, spend £40 on an air cooler and we have an Icelandic Summer!

Shoot me if you want, but I’m watching the World Cup game (ooh, Rooney’s going on, what a commotion) and for a while I found myself more interested when Trinidad & Tobago had the ball. Do I want us to lose? Do I want us to win? Do I really care? Was I just a little tired from my blood transfusion and thought the team in the red was us? Ah well, I’m not watching the footie honestly, I’m on my laptop in the room and my grandma’s watching it. Don’t know if she gets what’s going on like, but she probably knows more than me! Call me obsessed but I think I’m going to see Goldfrapp again next week, in Leeds this time though so no nice London scenery to look at… Then again, it wasn’t that nice. London had a funny smell, and it rained sporadically… A lot! Hey, you know my film “Lift My Spirits”? It’s very nearly coming up to completion, make sure you pay attention the Jimmy Teens TV website, although no doubt I’ll announce it on here with a fanfare and perhaps some white elephants with banners on them!

I’ll tell you, those bigwigs at Endemol have hired some geniuses for this years Big Brother. Having the golden housemate pick this weeks evictees and then making the rest of them stand on a stump for as long as they can to get immunity from nomination. Ha! I’m sure not all is as it appears, whether another twist is played next week in order for the golden housemate to avoid a national TV hanging by her fellow housemates (and I use the term mate loosely) or something is sprung on Friday’s live eviction show, we’ll have to see. Anyway, back to my dull life as a twenty-year-old, and I bought two music albums today. Yes I still buy CD’s as I enjoy displaying them and having the artwork and sleeve to look at, and when it’s Nelly Furtado that is most definitely a good thing… Keane, meh, thank god they use inspirational and moody art for their covers rather than them pulling boyband-esque poses! Oh, if you’re wondering why I’m blogging at 3am it’s because I’m in bed! I got my new laptop today from the generous people at the insurance place. It’s über-fantastic, did I mention how much of a Sony VAIO whore I am? Ha, I like Sony, everything except the Playstation 3… Talk about old news. The future is Nintendo’s Wii! Ah, I’ve always been a Nintendoid at heart, after the Sega Megadrive packed in when I was about 12 it was suddenly replaced by the N64, and boy did many sleepless nights follow! Awm good times. But now I must not have a sleepless night as there is more Gilmore Girls to watch in the morning, cheerio.

I just thought I’d mention now is that time of year when the sun is full and the heat is, well, hot! In my bedroom it tends to get unbearably stuffy and I am looking into buying an air conditioner/cooler type thing because I don’t like having my window open too far because it’s a skylight and not much air circulates through and plus I’m conscious of buzzy things flying inside, and there was once a wasp’s nest in my chimney. I’m paranoid still about them returning! Speaking of nests, we had a spider’s nest on the window this week, all the baby spiders were huddled together and there was at least two-hundred probably. Anyway, now they’ve all moved on and there’s a long string of web leading up towards my sister’s bedroom window! I’m not really fussed about tiny spiders, although 200 of them is skin-crawlingly creepy, but I’m sure they’ve moved onto bigger and better places! We tend to have a lot of nests round here, there’s also a bird’s nest in the front garden, they had a baby bird and it was learning to fly the other day! We have to be careful because sometimes the dog is outside, I doubt he’d eat it but he might paw it to death. He’s very cat like with his paws, playing with his food and with his bed. Um… Where was I? Right, my bedroom is stuffy, I might not be updating regularly, I’m hoping I get my laptop or air conditioner/cooler soon. I’m off to watch the Gilmore Girls now. Don’t laugh at me, it’s good!
